more about Yoga & Meditation
Breathing
is a natural body mechanism that tends to be overlooked and very often incorrect.
Most of us tend to breathe shallowly, without giving it a second thought. Yogic
breathing is conscious, with full awareness and the benefits are enormous. It
utilises full lung capacity, removing fatigue and headaches, improving concentration
and releasing the vital energy stored in our bodies.
Conditions
that can be helped with breathing techniques include: asthma, sinusitis, high
blood pressure, eczema, ear and nose infections.
Asanas are special postures
design to be held for an extended period of time without effort or strain, therefore
it is very important not to push oneself beyond the limits of the one's body.
Asanas help balance the whole body, giving physical awareness, focus, flexibility
and suppleness.
Relaxation tends
to be more difficult than it seems. Our lives are very busy, fast and demanding.
Most daily tasks are performed in a hurry. It is only when we suffer from stress
related disorders that we stop and try to slow down. Overlooked, but how very
important, relaxation is needed to stay in touch with ourselves, our bodies, minds
and souls. Only then we can be creative, healthy and productive.
Yoga
offers a range of relaxation techniques.
Meditation cleanses our minds
of mundane, everyday thoughts and worries and helps to tune into higher consciousness
and the universal soul. There are lots of techniques to keep still the mind. Regular
practice brings the most benefits. These benefits include:
freedom from stress, tension and anxiety
better sleep
increased immunity
heightened creativity
fewer headaches
reduction of high blood pressure.
